Poll Observers help promote transparency, document concerns, and support confidence in the election process while following all applicable rules. Poll Observers help promote transparency and confidence in the election process by carefully watching authorized activities and reporting concerns through the proper Wake GOP and election channels.

Observe the voting process from the legally designated observer area.

Watch for procedural issues, unusual activity, or voter-access concerns.

Record factual notes, including times, locations, and relevant details.

Report concerns promptly through the approved Wake GOP reporting process.

Remain calm, courteous, impartial, and professional throughout the shift.

Follow all instructions from election officials and Wake GOP coordinators.

Poll Observers must not interfere with voters, handle election materials, direct election officials, or disrupt activity inside the voting enclosure. Training and detailed instructions will be provided before your assignment.

Each location, date, and shift is limited to one volunteer. Weekdays have three shifts, while Saturdays and Sundays have two shifts. Filled shifts will be marked “FULL.”

We understand that schedules sometimes change. If you need to change your selected shift or cancel because you cannot attend, please contact the Wake GOP Office as soon as possible so the volunteer schedule can be updated.
