Jay has Influenced the public opinion process in the adoption of election integrity reforms in North Carolina by conducting solid political science research through a network of talented volunteers across the state. \nJay has been described as one who has the “dedication and passion” for his work. In addition he is known as a “mentor\, leader\, and visionary\, with an amazing memory and understanding of election law and the political landscape of NC\, as well as the technical knowledge and skills to support the research and advocacy work of the organization.” \nJay has an MBA as well as a Master’s degree in Journalism.  His 32 years of military service began by his enlisting as an Army Private in 1979 and retiring as an Air Force Lieutenant Colonel in 2011\, when he founded the Voter Integrity Project. \nHe will be making a special announcement at our meeting and seating is limited\, so come early!

DESCRIPTION:Join us as we hear from Andy Taylor\, a Professor of Political Science in the School of Public and International Affairs at NC State University.  He received his Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut and teaches courses in American politics\, including Introduction to American Government\, the Presidency and Congress\, the Legislative Process\, Public Choice and Political Institutions\, and the Classical Liberal Tradition.  He also teaches for the Distance Education program at NC State.  He won the College of Humanities and Social Sciences’ Poole Outstanding Teacher Award in 1999 and its Outstanding Researcher Award in 2014.  Taylor received NC State’s Extension Service Award in both 1999-2000 and 2003-4.  He is a native of the United Kingdom. – John Lock Foundation \n​Taylor also provides political commentary for a number of local media outlets\, such as WUNC and WRAL-5 television\, and writes a monthly column for Carolina Journal.
