Alan Swain is a retired US Army Colonel who served his country around the world for 26 years. Alan worked at the White House under Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush as the Executive Officer to the White House Drug Czar.

  • Wake GOP staff continue to make strides organizing day to day operations.
  • Our Wake GOP Store is open for sales.
  • We plan to go live with the new Wake County Republican website in the next few weeks.
  • Monday, May 17th ExComm approved our annual budget and introduced new Committee Chairs for Finance and Marketing/Social Media/PR.
  • We continue to attend Wake Republican Club meetings sharing Wake GOP initiatives and progress. This week we attended the Wake County Republican Women’s Club. Raleigh SE Region and Tech Committee meetings.
  • We continue to improve SharePoint administration – updated security rights.
  • Candidate recruitment continues meeting with candidates.
  • WGOP attended the May 19 & 20 events for “They Escaped their Life from Communism” at St. Luke’s Catholic Church Hall, 12333 Bayleaf Church Road, Raleigh, NC 27614. Both nights were heavily attended. 
  • May is Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Many Asian and Pacific Islanders who have enriched America’s history and are instrumental in our future success.

Chairman Update – 5/8/2021

Efforts to lock in a new WGOP office space are progressing. We hope to announce results soon.
Our new Committee Chairs are making good progress in organizing and planning their teams.
We had a highly successful Candidate Social event on 6 May at WGOP office with over 60 people attending and many interested candidates for office in 2021 and 2022.
