1. What role should town leaders play, and what should be
their priorities, in Wake County school issues?
Be a strong advocate, ensuring that Garner gets treated
fairly in new schools and student assignment. In Garner, we are
very active in meeting with the WCPSS and working with them on
key issues.
2. What should the town do to manage the rapid growth that is
expected to continue in coming years?
We are already proactive in our plans for future growth, such
as purchasing additional water/sewer from Raleigh. Our
developers are already building larger high-quality homes to
include a new senior citizen semi-retirement community. We are
also expanding our parks system in anticipation of future
growth.
